A saliva drug test for on-site workplace testing
The MicroScreen OFT 6 is a mouth swab drug test that screens oral fluid (saliva) for six drugs: amphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, opiates, THC (cannabis) and oxycodone. It is made by Thermo Fisher Scientific and verified to AS/NZS 4760:2019, the Australian and New Zealand standard for oral fluid drug testing.
Saliva testing can be done anywhere, with no bathroom or privacy screen needed. The collector watches the whole collection, which makes the sample hard to swap or dilute.
- It needs only a small amount of saliva, so it works for donors with a dry mouth or in tough worksite conditions.
- A saturation indicator turns red once enough saliva has been collected.
- Results are ready in 5 to 10 minutes, with no special training or equipment.

Workplaces whose drug policy specifies urine testing to AS/NZS 4308:2023: we recommend one of our urine test cups instead.
The donor should not eat, drink or smoke for 10 minutes before the test. The swab is held between the cheek and gum until the indicator turns red, then clicked into the cassette to start the test. The MicroScreen OFT 6 is a screening test. A negative result means none of the six drugs was detected above the cut-off level. A non-negative result shows the detected drug is over the AS/NZS 4760:2019 level.
