The most sensitive Check4Meth level

This kit triggers a positive result when methamphetamine residue on the tested surface is above 1.5 µg/100cm². It is the most sensitive of the four Check4Meth levels. The lower the number on the kit, the smaller the amount of methamphetamine needed to trigger the test.

New Zealand works to two headline figures. The conservative figure is 1.5 µg/100cm², reflected in NZS 8510:2017, the New Zealand standard for testing and decontaminating methamphetamine-contaminated properties. The health-risk figure is 15 µg/100cm², adopted as the new Government regulation level. This kit tests at the conservative figure.

Buying a house: Recommended. You want the most cautious reading available before you go unconditional.

Testing your own home, or a landlord with a specific concern about a property: Recommended.

 Asked to test to 1.5 µg/100cm² by an insurer, lender or property manager: this is the kit that matches that level.
